Corporate United States celebrates its 25th birthday!
All regional and local sports stadiums will host gala events game-time this
Sun'sDay in celebration. Acting C.E.O. and Executive Vice-President Joey
Sinotra Jr. will throw out the first ball at the Washington Fed's game. And
what an interesting quarter century it's been.
When the old U.S. (known by scholars as the Second Republic or the
shadow-nation) defaulted on 9 trillion dollars of debt it was time for a new
start! And the Corporate US has made some great strides in attracting
partners like ChinaCom Bank with its revolutionary stock-sharing program
which gave ChinaCom vast areas of wasted space in New York State.
The Corporate US has helped turn the tide on the 'Busch-ville' slum-cities
pasted together from packing materials after the great housing default and
real estate bust of the last century. The new corporate compounds that are
displacing the slum-cities feature nearly pollution-free controlled internal
atmospheres.
And what of the old US? Well it's still there! But without the power of
taxation it must rely on donations to function. Louie Gillespie is the President
(on the Whig-Labor ticket), but he still needs his job at as a Paralegal to get
by, so being President is a part-time and evening affair. (Mr. Gillespie is still
fighting his disbarment for charges of personal turpitude.) The Army of the
shadow United States consists of two companies of the Virginia National
Guard and one police battalion from Washington D.C. The two forces almost
came to blows over the Virginia Guard's flying of the confederate flag.
By comparison the Army of the Corporate United States has grown to five full
divisions with the arrival of the Ecuadoran Mercenary Unit known as the
Assassins.
Louie Gillespie recently made a speech on local-cable access TV in which he
complained that "the culmination of so many years of so called conservative
values turned the United States into a Latin American debtor country where
our security and well-being were out-sourced to transnational corporations,
the military police listens to everything, corruption is rife and everyone
speaks Spanish." Shortly thereafter his telephone service was terminated.

Of a total of 480,000 votes cast for President only half are counted.
The old US couldn't afford to count the rest of the votes and after several
weeks everyone lost interest. "Who cares if Louie is President," one former
citizen said, "the job ain't worth piss!"
