the Future is here; Going To Ilak Island

I arrive completely broke. Sell the sub for scrap getting enough for a bus
ticket to go home. I arrive in time to get my VA check. With it I rent an
apartment above a delicatessen.

It's quiet at night and there are few gunshots in the neighborhood. --Even
though I'm getting old and don't have much money I still think about trying
to get to Ilak Island. Maybe next time I'll go by heated kayak. What would I
find? Could I bring enough stuff to live there, or would it drive me
completely crazy? Sometimes you just can't go home again.
