Life and Death in the Desert of Enid Jirm
by Hero Heeto

Very little of Enid Jirm's work survives today. She rarely sold a piece
and sometimes bought them back and burned them with the rest of
her collection. She was the daughter of Marjorie and Major Jim Jirm
who was the heir of the European giant Buoyant Pharmaceutical.
Centuries ago the company was implicated in supplying products
for the Nazi death machine and later the middle eastern tyrant
So-damn Insane.

Enid went to Wellstry College at fifteen, graduated with honors
three years later and entered a nearly life-long conflict with
personal unhappiness.

She could only share intimacy with hobos, but never married. An
acquaintance of several weeks, Freddy-the-HomeOwner had much
of the remaining collection of her artworks. After prison he returned
to his shack in Pebbles, Colorado and sold the collection for several
hundred thousand dollars to a contestant from Antiques Road
Show. It was said that he invested the proceeds into wine and
drank himself to into oblivion.

Enid Jirm granted one interview during her life time to Alois Frenchie
of Channel Zany News. During the interview they ate hallucinogenic
mushrooms and chatted about art and the weather. Mr. Frenchie
died shortly afterward. On the surviving videotape Mr. Frenchie
asked Enid, "Why do you do art?"

"Because cutting off my head would be harder," she smiled. Enid
Jirm, the artist in dubious-residence. Goodbye Enid we will miss
you.  It is unfortunate, but according to the market-place the only
really 'good' artists are dead artists.
