Noir-love, (pronounced Nwar) or "dark-love" is becoming the rage
among many singles. As Janet Nevada, 23, an aspiring
painter-dancer by day and a CPA auditor by night, explains:
"Happiness is an illusion. I spent years and years trying to be
happy. It led to several go-nowhere relationships. Finally, I realized
that I crave trauma and tension. I needed to come to the dark-side
and just be me."
Her feelings were echoed by her consort of the moment Eric,
Severed, 19, a former rock-drummer and pharmacological
entrepreneur (drug dealer). "Uh huh." When pressed for more
details on his association with dark-love, he slowly lit a cigarette; a
perfect noir-statement, and abruptly left. Janet expecting more
from her beau than he had to offer went into a screaming fit.
"So, what did you expect?" This researcher finally asked.
"I dunno," Janet sniveled, wiping tears and snot with the palms of
her hands. I thought he'd stick around maybe through tonight..."
Suddenly she brightened, "Oh he'll be back. He left his stash
here..."
