Where is this world going?

What if the expansion of the universe is halted by entropy and begins to
collapse back upon itself; will time reverse? Will joyous people converge at
plots of ground to retrieve departed relatives, bring them to hospital and
then as they revive bring them home to become well and younger? Will
others sadly watch their children grow infantile and then become unborn as
they go back to the womb?
What will happen to marriages as people become younger and prepare to
live life all over again, knowing the outcome of the path they have already
chosen and having no fear of future outcomes in a world with no future?
Doctor Hyman Zerk had postulated that this was possible but incompatible
with life systems. "While time can run in reverse life systems need to run
forward," he said over soda and cookies at his lab in Oceanside, Nevada.
"So what would happen?" I asked
"All life forms within the entire universe would become trapped into a new
dimension. Perhaps, as that moment could be frozen outside of flowing time,
it's theoretically possible that it would include all the life forms that ever
existed, but probably without form, as such an immediately created
dimension would not have height, length, width; only a single element called
end-time."
"So this would the heaven of eschatology?" I asked.
"Or the other place," Dr. Zerk smiled.
"But the Universe won't collapse back on itself, will it?" I asked.
"Everybody says it won't," Dr. Zerk offered with a wry smile.
"What do you say?" I prodded.
"Want a cookie?"
